Wedding Planning Tips for Alabama Couples

An Alabama wedding is all about blending mountain views, lakeside beauty, and Southern charm.

To keep things stress-free, here’s a quick starting point for your planning:

Your Simple Wedding Planning Timeline

  • 12–18 months out: Decide guest count, book venue + date (Evergreen’s weekend package books fast, so lock it in early if you want extra time to decorate + celebrate).
  • 9–12 months out: Order bridal dress + groom’s outfit, book photographer + catering (our paved parking + BYOB-friendly policy make vendor coordination simple).
  • 6–9 months out: Plan bachelorette/bachelor parties, book florist, rentals, + entertainment (our décor closet saves you money + headaches here).
  • 3–6 months out: Send invites, plan ceremony details, confirm menus + décor.
  • 1–3 months out: Final fittings, beauty trials, vendor check-ins, finalize timeline.

Planning in phases keeps you from feeling rushed and helps you enjoy the process.

By breaking it down, you’ll actually savor the months leading up to your day instead of stressing through them.

Consider Guest Travel + Proximity

Huntsville International (HSV) makes travel easy, and Birmingham + Chattanooga are within driving distance.

Smaller towns like Rainbow City and Gadsden give guests charming weekend getaways with plenty to explore nearby.

Evergreen’s Rainbow City location keeps things convenient for guests while still feeling private + tucked away.

Rustic barns, timeless chapels, forest altars, lakeside lawns, or chic ballrooms—the region’s variety means you can match your style perfectly.

“Evergreen was everything we wanted and more for our wedding!! The chapel, reception hall, and courtyard are all beautiful and well thought out. We especially loved the decor closet, the string lights, and the gorgeous landscaping.

Why Are Wedding Packages Important?

When you’re planning a wedding, little details add up fast—tables, chairs, linens, staff, even rehearsal time.

If your venue doesn’t include these essentials, you’ll have to rent or book them separately, which can quickly drive up costs and stress.

Choosing a venue with thoughtful wedding packages means you get:

  • Built-in savings: Bundled rentals + services are almost always more cost-effective.
  • Less stress: You don’t have to coordinate 10 different vendors just to cover the basics.
  • Peace of mind: Essentials like parking, restrooms, and rehearsal time are already secured.

It’s not just about convenience, it’s about giving yourself more room to enjoy the moments that matter most.

And speaking of planning smart, keep reading for some of the most common wedding budget questions couples ask.

Love Notes From Our Couples

One of the sweetest parts of what we do is hearing back from the couples who chose Evergreen as the backdrop to their love story.

“This was the most stunning venue!! I wanted a classic white chapel wedding and this is exactly what I got.

The venue owners were also great leading up to the wedding and allowed us to stop by a couple of times to look at how to decorate. We ended up having 130-140 guests and the venue comfortably held everyone. We got the venue for two days and did the rehearsal dinner the night before, which was amazing and very easy for our wedding party.

The price for the venue was great and did not put a strain on our overall wedding budget, and I did not compromise on anything I wanted out of a venue. We also had a great get ready room that allowed all of the bridesmaids to get ready comfortably.

All of our vendors that are seasoned in the wedding industry thought the venue was wonderful as well. There are also many great picture locations!” —Kaelyn A., Evergreen Bride, Reviews
